Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!!!  I’m pretty much saying this to EVERYONE because as a teacher, we’re ALL mommas…the only difference is that we get to send ours home at the end of the day :)  I’m so blessed that God trusted me to raise these two sweet loves…

My boys woke me up with a sweet little card and Mr. Spouse surprised me with a little gift card and told me to take the afternoon to myself.  I couldn’t say “thank you” fast enough!  After church, we celebrated with a pizza lunch and some yogurt and then I headed out for a pedi and some shopping!  I didn’t buy anything except groceries, but ohmiword…it was really nice to have a few hours of uninterrupted “me” time!

If y’all are still shopping for yourselves….or for your sweet mommas…I’ve got the *PERFECT* shop for you to browse through!!!!  I just got my DARLING phone case in the mail the other day…a little gift to myself thankyouverymuch…and squealed!!!  I LOVE IT!!!

Is that not ADORABLE?!?!?!  Chevron & a monogram!??!  Swoon.

This is courtesy of the lovely ladies at Trio Design Studios.  As the name suggests, the company is a TRIO of moms based out of Dallas and they seriously make the CUTEST products!!!!  I bought this at an auction they hosted on Facebook a few weeks ago.  I bought this at one of their auctions, too…

A personalized tracing pad?!?!?  GET.OUT!!!!!  Landon LOVES it!!!!  You need to get in on these auctions…I think they host them once a month.  Follow them HERE on Facebook.  And if you need to treat yourself…or someone special…go shopping in their PRECIOUS store!!!!!!  I absolutely ADORE their stuff!!!

This past week, my school babies were busy getting things ready for their moms.  We made these little bookmarks that my TL found on Pinterest.  I don’t have the original link…I’d love to give credit where it’s due!  If you know where this idea originated, let me know!!!

As you can see, these are pretty darn simple!  Washers, scrapbook paper, scrapbook hole punch, ribbon, and mod podge!

I made up a little saying to stick with the bookmarks so that the moms would know what it was.  I hope it made sense!  HA!

We also made our moms little mother’s day books where the kids had to fill out a little questionnaire all about their mom and then complete additional pages that had me laughing for days on end.  Here’s my favorite…

Oh my!

This week we’ll be continuing our unit on TIME!!!!  Thank goodness we’ve been reviewing this all year during Calendar otherwise my babies might be a little confused!  We’ll be using my little supplemental Time After Time packet to get us through the next couple of weeks before “summa-summa-summa time!” {please tell me you read that to the tune of Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince?!?!}  THROWBACK to the 90’s anyone?!?!

Time PReview

The first three people to name me a song with the word SUMMER in the title will get a copy of this little unit for yourself!!!

Happy Mother’s Day!!  Have a blessed week!

  14. I like the bookmarks, cute, but simple! One year I had my kids answer questions about their moms. One of the sentences to fill in was, I don't like it when my mom.... One of my boys said drinks too much. OOPS!

I've been following you for a while and I love your blog. I'd love for you to follow me back.

  18. Just finished my student teaching in first grade and I am addicted to your blog. Hoping I get to have sweet little firsties (and a job) next year!!! How do you make the curly-q box that you use in many of your google docs? Is that something I can add to my google docs or did you purchase this as clip art? Thank you!

  20. lol. I just love how honest some of the kiddos are! I learn so many interesting things about parents! The thing is... they probably overheard their mom saying, "I need to top drinking red wine because it stains my teeth.." or something like that!

I once had a little boy run in and really excited to let me know that his mom got a new bed. Then he proceeded to tell me all about the mirrors that were hanging on the ceiling above it. WOAH...

Thanks for sharing... that definitely was a good laugh! ;)

  28. Hello!

Is there any way I could get a copy of your mother's day book? I have one I used when I taught Kindergarten but now I have moved up to 1st. P.S. I love your blog! I have followed everything you did when you taught first and did most of it with my students. I even have stars with hand prints on them in the back of my classroom:) Thank you for being my mentor! I would have not made it with out your blog!
