Every now and then, I think it's important to take a break from blogging. In my case, LOTS of breaks :)
And in the famous words of Ferris Bueller....
SO true, Ferris.
So true.
And it was just the break I needed to recharge. From a LONG year. A year full of more surprises than I thought were possible. Good surprises. Unexpected changes. Let me just tell y'all this...God is SO good.
All.the.time.
The day after the school year ended, Mr. Spouse and I dropped the kids off at mom & dad's and headed to the Bahamas to spend a week in paradise. We're celebrating 10 years of "wedded bliss" next week and needed a little getaway to reconnect and celebrate. Let me tell you what I did NOT think about during those 7 days...blogging, teaching, and everything in between :) Just me & Mr. Spouse. I LOVE that man, y'all. BIG love.
Our view for 7 days!! We would spend the mornings watching the sting rays come right up to the beach. AMAZING, y'all.
Even the storms are beautiful in the Bahamas. One day after an afternoon shower, the water was ELECTRIC. Bluest waters I've ever seen! Like I said, y'all...God is GOOD.
I'm finally settled back in and ready to tackle a few projects that have been in progress since January(ish). I'm also finishing up a few presentations for the I Teach K/I Teach 1st conference in just a couple of weeks!!! Will I see you there?!?!?!?!?!??!? I certainly hope so!!!
*Shockingly*, I also have several blog posts already written and scheduled to post in the next few days. You can't see me, but I'm patting myself on the back as I type {because I can multitask like that;)}. Here are just a few little peeks into those posts....
Now, if you DO plan on coming to Vegas, don't forget about the Teacher-Blogger Meet Up on the 9th!!
You DO NOT have to be a blogger to join in the fun!!!
You CAN RSVP :) In fact, there's a FB page for that! You can RSVP HERE.
This will help us plan a little better {refreshments, seating, etc.}
Make sure you come wearing a name tag! Don't worry about making your own. We have one you can download and bring with you :) You can download your name tag HERE. Just follow the simple instructions to do so!!! Sweet Traci from Dragonflies in First is the cutie behind the design. Thank you, Traci!
There will be TONS of amazing prizes!! I mean, y'all. TONS. From some seriously amazing sponsors. You really DON'T want to miss out!!!
The meet up will be at the Venetian, but the exact room location is TBA....so make sure you're following the event page to get the latest updates so you don't miss out!
I really can't wait to see y'all there!!!
Stay tuned for more fun!!!!
LOVE your pics & posts (alwayzzz) and can't wait to squeeze you in Vegas! :-)

I absolutely LOVE the Bahamas. I went there for the first time last year on my Honeymoon. We went to the Great Exuma island and stayed at Sandals. It was AMAZING!! I want to go back so bad. This makes me miss it more! Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had an awesome vacation!

Your Blog is my absolute favorite! I love reading about how you do things. From teaching to just creative ideas you post! I'm being moved from Kindergarten to 2nd and I'm so bummed. I'm hoping I'll like it and can use a lot of the packets I have from you. I just love the creativity and flexibility of Kinder and not sure it will work in 2nd. I wish I could attend the conference in Vegas to listen and learn from all you lovely, smart, talented teachers!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to meet you in Vegas!!

Hey there Cara,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog. Thank you for sharing all of your insights about teaching with the world. It truly is inspirational to see the work that you create and use in your classroom. (;
I also have a quick question for you: I'm all registered for the conferences in Vegas (SO unbelievably jazzed, btw), but I don't use Facebook. Is there another way to rsvp for the blogger meetup and find out where the meetup will actually be held? I can't wait to meet all you wonderfully inspiring teachers!!!
Kindly,
Theresa

Cara,
ReplyDeleteI'm a first grade teacher fan who is counting down the days to see you and some other fantastic bloggers at the SDE conference in Vegas. I so appreciate the time you take to share your inspirations and creativity with so many!
I'm having a hard time getting the "Fun-a-Licious Math" handouts to print out correctly from the SDE site. Would it be possible for you to send me a pdf via email so I can try it that way? I would really appreciate it.
See you soon!
